Faryab University is a public university in Maimana, Faryab Province, Afghanistan Faryab University was established in 1977 under the name of Faryab Higher Education Institute in Maimana city of Faryab province and in 1391 it was upgraded to a university. The university has faculties of education, literature, economics, agriculture and engineering, with nearly 4,500 students, including 40% girls, studying. Faryab University was built on 75 acres of land owned by the Ministry of National Defense at a cost of three million US dollars in the city of Maimana.
