Tomori Hotel

The staff and the service where awesome but the building it's a bit old. Anyway they have done restauration but still you feel the old times, like you travel in a time machine and go back in communism. We went for a job training and used the conference room, it was functional with the projector and the strong wifi, also we had coffee break and lunch. You should try a sweet dish, called MOMBLAN with heavy milk cream, but you find it only in this hotel because they invented this sweet and the milk is provided by only one local farm, dedicated to the hotel. It was really sweet.

Feels like it was "the" hotel in the old communist times. Interesting as you feel like you're back in the 70s but it's not a 4 star hotel by any means and the breakfast is improvable. The views from the rooms (at least our one) and the rooftop are great though.

Just tried the cafe, never stayed at the hotel. The cafe is a classical place in Berat where you can have nice desserts and coffee, right at the center of the city. Like the place very much and go there everytime I come to Berat.

First try in the restaurant - complete disaster. Ordered Penne all’arrabbiata. The “food” came after 6 minutes. We asked before how the pasta is cooked - Italian style? - yes was the answer. I have never tasted something like this in a restaurant. The sauce was made with Tabasco which is simply a no go. There were no spices, no herbs, no olive oil, no garlic. I even doubt it was made with real tomatoes, it tasted like ketchup. This dish is one of the simplest pasta dishes, it is sad to serve people such low quality.

Nice view. Crowded. Waiting too much for the waiter.
