Taverna Lazaro

The staff is very friendly. I left my sunglasses on the seat at dinner; the next morning, I stopped by, and the host remembered me and said he had my sunglasses. The food was flavorful, and I will come back for more meals. The restaurant is cozy and relaxing South indoor and outdoor seating. If you're traveling through Berat, I recommend having dinner here then have a walk through the Berat Castle, which is very close.

A traditional restaurant with good food, good people and good prices! I ate lunch today (alone) there and it was a great decision to choose this restaurant. The owner and his family were very nice to me: first of all, they offered me rakia :) The food was excellent (I tried the greek salad, some home made burek, peppers and olives), huge size of the portions and the price was really cheap. If I'm coming back to Berat, for sure I'll pass through this place! And I recommend you as well to go there ;)

Quite a climb, but worth the effort! We walked over here at night in hope to avoid all the touristy restaurants downtown, and were so happy we found Taverna Lazaro! Dinner is served in a cute, tucked away garden with Greek music playing in the background. The taverna has a beautiful view over the valley, and the food is delicious and fresh and the owner was happy to let us try some of his home made raki. For those looking to avoid the tourists and truly good food: this is the place!
