Martyrs' Cemetery

There is good place where you can feel the nature and enjoy the beautiful sightseeing of city.

This WW2 cemetery is located on the hillside overlooking Korca city and the hike up there is a good workout. The stairs up to the monument are pretty dilapidated and the cemetery itself could do with a bit more maintenance. Nonetheless, it’s very moving to read the dates on the headstones and see the raft of young men, from the age of 16 upwards, so tragically lost. There is an impressive monument to commemorate the fallen and the views across Korca and the surrounding area are spectacular.

Exceptional views over the town of Korca and the mountains. The monument itself is interesting to watch for anyone interested in Communist art. Be sure to take the stairs from the road below to the monument, the road leading to it is for cars and is a bit meandering
