Shën Mëria e Bodinit

This holy place is located on the top of the mountain (hill) of Shëmria at an altitude of 743 m above the village of Bodin between Tirana and Elbasan. According to the residents, some time ago there was a church from which the mountain got its name. It is located in a strategic place from where both fields of Tirana and Elbasan can be seen with the naked eye. The mountain had a castle which surrounded the whole peak, becoming a strategic point from where it controlled the trade routes that passed through the corridor Tirana-Baldushk, Pajun-Papër-Elbasan.
