Sahati Clock Tower

A landmark of Tirana, this building is easily visible and adds a nice touch to the panorama of the city. The design is astonishing and nice photos can be taken here if people passing by are handled correctly. The interior space is good for praying and although this place is very publicly visible, it gives you a nice experience. Paintings and decals on its walls are unique and captivating.

Renovated surroundings, the Tower Clock of the city, used to be a library inside back in the days and always was a fascinated being inside, not read much but I remember looking up from the inside the tower, just a little kid back then, don’t know if still is a library, would like to visit inside if possible sometime.

Built during the 19th century, it is built on a shopping mall on the hilltop at the highest point of the city to dominate not only the market but also the entire city. The tower constitutes an ensemble as it is surrounded by the mosque and the lower part by the old bazaar. It is made of pumice stone and is accompanied by engraving. Inside there is a pair of wooden stairs, and on the upper part is a wooden clock that has previously functioned with the sound of a bell. It is no more today. The tower is known for its architectural values ​​and ornamental decoration that create white with green stones. Received protection status Category I on 17.03.1948.
