The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering is the first high school in Albania to train senior specialists in the fields of mechanics, metallurgy and materials and textile fashion. The preparation of senior mechanical engineering specialists in Albania dates back to 1951, at the branch of mechanical engineering which was an integral part of the High Polytechnic Institute, until 1957, the year in which the University of Tirana was established. an integral part of it. Until 1991, the year in which the Polytechnic University was established, the branch of mechanical engineering was an integral part of the faculty of mechanical and electrical engineering. The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering was formed as an independent unit of the Polytechnic University in 1991. In 1999 with the organization of the first democratic elections in the universities was reorganized the F.I.M. like below: Department of Energy with scientific teaching groups as follows: - Thermotechnics and energy - Thermofluidic machines and thermotechnical plants Department of Mechanics with scientific teaching groups as follows: - Mechanical constructions and mechanical design - Transport systems and moving vehicles Department of Production Management with scientific teaching groups as follows: - Mechanical technology - Engineering graphics - Materials -Industrial Management and Economic Engineering Department of Textile and Fashion
