St. Nicholas Church

Byzantine church, built about 600 years ago. The murals are the work of the great painter Onufri.

Beautiful ancient frescoes by Onufri. What a find this little church was. The key holder let us in a d he and his wife allowed us to look round and take photos of the frescoes. Well worth a visit if you appreciate religious art.

Small church that remains standing since 1554, dedicated to San Nicolás. It has resisted invasions and wars although it has not been immune to the passage of time. Its roof has been lost and has had to be rebuilt and the frescoes on the walls although in good condition has suffered enough wear. Admission is free and the priest explains (understanding as you can) what you want from the church.
