The castle of Porto Palermo is a castle with a very intriguing story. The fortress of Ali Pasha is located in the closed bay of Porto Palermo, it surrounded by a beach with turquoise water, a few kilometers south of Himarë. This fortress served as a former Soviet submarine base during the communist regime in Albania, and today you can visit his barracks abandoned tunnels and seeds, as well as the walls and doors of the fortress built by the powerful Ali Pasha Ionina.
