Very interesting geophysical site. It is listed as protected natural monument in Albania, since 1963. The delta is dry and with rocks. It has been created by a torrent or river coming down from the Acroceraunian Mountains. There is a fine and interesting poem of Percy Bisshy Shelley, the British poet dedicated to the nymph Arethusa of antiquity. Seeing the Delta and the Acroceraunians (Peak Çika and Peak Qorre) would give the impression that this sites create Arethusa’s coach of snow.
