Ιερά Μονή Κοιμήσεως της Θεοτόκου, Κακομιά

This place deserves more! It is one of the best places on the Albanian riviera. However there is not information about cloister, acces is without sings as well. Near cloister is something like army terotorry. You have to park in front of it, there was strange guy, who wanted from us 2 EUR for visiting the cloister and for parking in front of army base. That was really strange. The cloister is beautiful, but the surroundings is really bad.

Beautiful monastery and private beach

A wonderful place, a beautifully situated small monastery on the hillside, sheltered from the wind stands and admires immutable glittering sunsets for centuries. Admission free and launching the imagination can be moved to the middle ages. A large part of the buildings has survived the time, some restored. Walking on a wide, though stony path from the gate at the entrance to the closed beach of Kakome, you can leave your car there.

The church was built by hands of masters, who also worked in the Monastery of Saint Mary, in Chorzheim. The church was painted in 1672 by the painter Mihal Jerma. The painter's description is in Albanian, in Greek, and is considered as one of the earliest Greek inscriptions with the earliest recorded Greek letters. The church was burned by Germans in World War II. Among the other rare relics, the "Gospel" was abducted, written over 500 pieces of beef skin, which is also visited at the Louvre Museum in Paris. The monastery kambana was donated in 1695 by the King of Naples and the two Sicilies and bearing the inscription "Devoted to the Lukovyana Kapedanas" since at that time this monastery belonged to Lukas
