Part of the walls that used to encircle the city includes the Venetian Tower built in the 15th century as part of the defense from the Ottoman Empire. It's in very good shape. There's a cafe located inside it now and you can climb the very steep steps carefully to see the view from up top and enjoy a drink while you're up there.

The only remaining tower that preserves itself in a perfect shape. This tower is the symbol of the city. Everyone in Durres or in Albania knows this tower. During the war the tower served as a strategic battle position. Its actual function serves as a bar and as an art gallery. Its in perfect condition.
