Ok they've covered up many of the paintings which is certainly unusual, but after spending some time I gradually came to like the idea. The covers are slightly see through so you get a teasing view of what's below and they periodically change what is on show and have 'grand unveilings' with a talk, so maybe it all adds excitement. The building itself is beautiful and worth visiting for that alone (though at the moment there are many cracks from the Nov 2019 earthquake). So for the incredibly reasonable entry fee I'd say it is a must see.

Very clean and well maintained.

Unfortunately on the 11/12/19 the Gallery was closed. However, no informative notice explaining this. Luckily, I met a lady at the library that told me that indeed, the gallery was closed and that she didn't know when it will be reopened. It could take one, two weeks or even more. Anyways, it would have been appreciated to know this before hand.

Would you visit an art museum where almost all the art are covered-up? What you see on the exterior of this museum now is what you'll see on the inside as well! The reception tried to justify it by calling it "modern art." I call it total BS! Forget about wasting your money, don't even waste a minute of your time here. It's the WORST excuse of a museum, EVER!

7/8ths of the paintings are covered. Apparently there's a new curator who thought it would be a great idea to cover all the paintings so you can't actually see them. The way the woman selling tickets said it, it's clear there ha e been a lot of complaints. Maybe this is fine if you live here and can visit regularly enough to catch them all uncovered at some point, but as a visitor, it's pretty frustrating, and doesn't seem to honor the paintings and artists. Though it was just about $5 for two adults and a senior citizen, I don't think it's worth visiting until the paintings are all uncovered.
