Located in old Dhërmi under the manastery complex, the pirate caves can be reached mostly by the sea or by hanging from the cliffs. It was thought that was used by pyrates which used it as a base, a shelter and a place to track and robb navies which sail during the spring and summer time in the Ionian and Adriatik waters of the Mediterran basin known by Romans as: 'mare nostrum'.
