Small palace with an unique double spiral staircase, a real masterpiece...

The information on the figure, the last Ottomans of the besiegers, who left the city involuntarily, were in my time verbally - and of course completely wrong - handed down. There it was said at history-rich school events from elementary school, but also by university-trained side of history professors in the AHS then always: "That was the last Turk who has besieged us, who then got caught and ausn window geworfn". Unfortunately, this tradition turned out to be nonsense. Therefore, it would make sense to ask these "legends" at least directly under the figure with an information board correctly.

The great Palais Saurau in Graz (Austria), built by an important merchant in the 17th century, is located at the foot of the Castle of Graz. Too bad it is not visited inside. But it has a very interesting Renaissance cover. It is next to the long illuminated tunnel that crosses underneath the mound of the Castle, and that leads until the "Staircase of the Russians". It is worth going through to see the network of tunnels built by Napoleon's troops and the Nazis (6km).
