Directly in 6212 Eben - Maurach am Achensee, there is one of the most famous sanctuaries of the "Land in the Mountains", the St. Notburgakirche von Eben! Who is in the area of ​​the Achensee, should have a look at the very nicely maintained and clean St. Notburgakirche !! St. Notburga, to whom this church is dedicated, was a simple, ordinary woman from the class of maids and domestic servants. Notburga was valued for her loyalty and hard work. Beloved by the poor for their charity, and admired by all for their pious way of life! St. Notburga was a fighter for the poor, that's why she prevailed - in a unique way - even against the resistance of the "higher - established society"! When entering the church, it almost seems as if St. Notburga is coming towards you, although at the first glance at the altar you - a little startled - because a very nicely dressed skeleton does not appear every day and certainly not on the " High altar! " The light-flooded, bright church interior with its very beautiful stucco and very beautiful pictures almost looks like a reflection of the pure soul of the modest maid St. Notburga! Very, very worth seeing! 🌹

Baroque pilgrimage church. In the high altar costumed skeleton of the saint Notburga. Something spooky, but you should not miss that.
