Not so amazing to look at, but it has some interesting history. And what makes the top of this hill so awesome is there are placards explaining everything.

Große Zisterne was built during the years 1544-1547 by Domenico dell'Allio and today it is one of the main decorative elements of Park Schloßberg.

A delicate structure and an interesting history: The well was built by Dominico dell’Allio from plans by Lazarus von Scheendi, between 1544 and 1547. It is one of the largest constructions of this kind with five 3.6 m diameter shafts arranged in a circle in the 16 meter deep basin. The rainwater ducted from the surrounding rooftops was filtered and collected in the connected shafts. In 1897 the well canopy as seen today was added to the stone well casing dating from 1739.
