Nice for breakfast

The Café Ertl is also a bakery and features loads of sun, as this café is freestanding in Studenzen, a town in the surroundings of Graz. So here you will get much sunshine, if this your thing. The glass front of this café lets much sunshine in and the seating is comfy. You can even sit outside, very nice even on a warm winter’s day, as here as in the whole region around Graz, wind is the exception not the rule. So soaking up the sun, without having to endure wind makes even the cooler temperatures in winter so much more bearable. As the wind (chill) makes all the difference. The bakery features all the goodies from the Austrian Pastry World, as stated elsewhere many times, which you can choose from the showcase. I took a typical Austrian Café Verlängerter with a Topfentascherl, this “Danish” filled with sweet cheese Austria is famous for. The term for “Danish” is “Plunder” in Austrian German (anything else than what plunder means in English of course) describes this fluffy and light pastry with many little layers, similar to a croissant, almost falling apart when you bite in it. However, it’s marvelous to sit in this nice little café watching on the green and enjoy loads of sunshine, while having a coffee with this sweet cheese pastry called Topfentascherl, literally being a combination of the German words “Topfen” meaning “sweet cheese” plus “Tascherl” meaning “little bag”. The waiter is nice and polite, therefore you get the time you need for whatever reason you came here, may it be for reading the newspapers or using/reading/working on your device. Here are also some plugs for charging your devices during your stay here. Best wishes, Dr. Dr. Immanuel Fruhmann

Have often brought pastries but had breakfast for the first time today. Get a seat immediately even though we had not reserved. The catering specialist was courteous, friendly and always attentive. The price for 2 adults and 2 children was more than reasonable and cheap! Highly recommended THANKS !!!
