Obertraun is beautiful place to spend your summer holidays. The elderly lady at the tourism office was very nice and helpful and prepared me with a lot of information for our stay and our planned activities! I'll be back :)

The staff ladies are so kind. You can leave your buggage during office hour. To go to any other place takes a ling time coz the bus comes one and one and a half hour. When we go there we went to 5 fingers. But we are waiting for Toruirst office open to leave our buggage and take again before 5. So, waist time for us. If you go to 5 fingers, you should go directly there, at the cable car station you can keep your buggage.

The staff there is very helpful. She gave us useful information and trip plan suggestions based on accurate weather forecast. She helped to make our trip to Hallstatt, Five Fingers and the caves a very smooth one.

No idea where 2eur a day tourist tax goes. The village has nowhere to go for a walk in winter. Walkways are not cleaned. They put all the snow from the roads and nearby properties on pedestrian walkways, making them unpassable. Lots of private roads around where you can't even walk and locals ask you to leave. No skibus to slopes no way to get there on foot as well. You have to drive 1km by car or walk on the busy road with cars. So ecological... Drive couple more hours to Italian Dolomites for 300% more tourist friendly places, cheaper everything and way better skiing.
