The "Kalvarienberg Chapel" is located exactly 100 meters above the city of Innsbruck - at an altitude of 674 m!
Presumably the "Kalvarienberg - Kirche" was built in 1664 a. at the
Inaugurated October 24, 1665.
The "Kalvarienberg - Kapelle" is an octagonal building and actually a chapel of the "Sorrowful Mother of God!"
On the high altar is the beautiful Pieta - a representation of Mary with her dead son - from around 1430
On the outside of the church (where the view extends over Innsbruck)
there is a large "crucifix"
Up to the chapel there
7 stations of the cross!
A very beautiful chapel with a wonderful view over Innsbruck, to the Thaurer fields, Patscherkofl, ......
