Before signing up for a home insurance product, I had a short question including an calculating example. By now, after 5 e-mails, I still dont know the answer to the question. My question was the following: if a personal action under Grober Fahrlässigkeit results in a damage claim of 500 Euros (e.g. my TV breaks because of a water leak while I am out of the apartment), will Muki pay 250 or 500. I ask this because when there is a regular damage claim, insurances typically adjust for whether the apartment was underinsured: if I insured for 50000 but it is determined that the apartment should have been insured for 100000, all insurance companies only pay out damages pro rata: a damage of 500 would result in a payout of 250. Since Grobe Fahrlässigkeit is also insuring only 50% of the total insurance, I wanted to know whether claims are paid out fully or pro rata. Apparently it is impossible to find that out. I assume that this incompetence would also show when I would have to file an actual claim. Thus I chose another home insurance.

I insured the apartment three years ago and one month before the deadline I told them that we didn't want to extend the insurance. The answer, however, was that you are not our customer and after contact and research, a move came in for the inexperienced employee. He wrote the owner's name on my behalf and cannot cancel the insurance he has. They just want to withdraw the money from me. Notice that I am the one who signed these papers.
