Come here and have a good time. Mountains, meadows, relaxed surroundings and friendly people. Great for coworkings or just - a break 🙂
I can't say anything about the time-out house itself, but about the "companion" Franz Hälg. I met Mr. Hälg in 1987 in Nütschau (Schleswig-Holstein, Germany) when I was just 18 years old and an unsuspecting visitor to the "Whitsun meeting" of the Nütschau monastery (religious event for young Catholic people).
I was in contact with Mr. Hälg until the beginning of 1992. From October 1991 to February 1992 I lived in the house next to the house where Mr. Hälg lived, worked and lived with him (and others).
Mr. Hälg undoubtedly has a lot of "what can do" with his craft. But that's the only thing I can say positively in retrospect.
Mr. Hälg has no educational, psychological or theological training. Nevertheless, he likes to talk a lot, and takes quite steep theses.
Here are just two examples that I remember well:
Diseases:
Every epoch has its "suitable" diseases. In our time it is cancer, a disease that naturally wants to spread more and more in the body - in keeping with our time when people wanted more and more.
(What do cancer sufferers / bereaved relatives say?)
Old testament:
Basically survived and superfluous, you can throw it away.
(What do people of the Jewish faith say about it?)
Mr. Hälg has a guru-like nature and knows very well how to cast a spell over people, especially young, inexperienced people "in search". (However, if someone behaves differently than what suits him, he reacts offended and sometimes gets violent.)
There is a danger here that young people without life experience slip into a dependency on a questionable "companion" who sells them very questionable "wisdom" from the esoteric / conspiracy-theoretical spectrum (that's how I would classify it today) as "truths". In the worst case, Mr. Hälg's "students" become "dropouts" who break off everything in order to then have the same "risk biography" as himself.
I don't know whether this is worth striving for.
We spent a week in June in the small apartment (adjoining apartment) of the time-out house. Here, a former farmhouse was (and still is) consistently renovated ecologically, with attention to detail, good craftsmanship, resource-saving and with honest conviction. The two apartments have only been completed this summer, and as soon as you enter the apartment you can feel the special atmosphere that natural building materials radiate: old and new woods, clay plaster walls, natural stone walls, unglazed terracotta, these materials simply and ideally regulate the indoor climate . Many corners of the house are still under construction, which didn't bother us, on the contrary, you can always look over the shoulder of host and owner Franz and get an explanation of why he is doing what and so this house is for everyone who is looking for himself interested in ecological construction, a rich treasure trove of knowledge. Here you have a great view of the Pitztal, when the weather is nice you can see as far as Wildspitze. We did some wonderful hikes, you can start right here (E5) or walk down to the village and take the bus further back into the valley, by the way you can park directly at the house, a small stream rushes by next door, fresh milk or eggs there is at the neighbors, and if something is missing or stuck, Franz, who lives upstairs in the house, always has an open ear. A great and inspiring place and I am already looking forward to coming back here and seeing how the house develops!
We were the first guests in the new apartment and "put it into operation".
Small things were still missing, but this was due to the early "first time use" and ultimately nothing important was missing.
The concept of building with alternative materials, reusing things and sustainability make this apartment absolutely special. A great host who can tell a lot about the house and the concept was also fun. Our children also had fun playing on the stream and there was also a lot to discover on the farm around the corner - including fresh milk.
The location was perfect for us - but you have to be very athletic on foot. It is already very high on the mountain. There is a great view for that! We will be back for sure!
