Excellent doctors and very professional service. I broke my wrist snowboarding and was rushed to Dr Aufmesser's for emergency surgery. The break was bad and required a titanium plate to be fitted, but about 8 months later I made a full recovery and I'm now able to carry out all activities including ones that put a lot of strain on the hands like rock climbing. I couldn't be happier with the job the doctors did. Highly recommend.
I had an ACL surgery on my left leg done here nearly 10 years ago when I was 39. In the 10 years since, I have actually become more active - running regularly, taking up triathlon, riding my road bike across the Pyrenees and Alps, while keeping on with downhill skiing, rollerblading, hiking etc.
While I have had other sports injuries and general musculo-skeletel issues, my knee is solid: every time I see a new DR, when they hear I've had ACL surgery, they immediately test the knees. Then they quickly move on, because the knees are perfectly fine.
[Previous to my left leg surgery, I had had an ACL reconstruction on the right leg in 2002. It too had gone well, which made the decision easier the second time. While the first reconstruction is also still solid nearly 20 years later, the scars are far more obvious and it left an odd indentation around one scar. ]
The one regret I have has *nothing to do with hospital or my surgery*: it was the circumstances, which were unusual. I was a newly-arrived expat living in France, but vacationing in Obertauern when I had my accident.
Upon return to Paris, I did not understand how physiotherapy worked, among other things with French healthcare (and life in France, period). As a result, I did not have nearly as much focused rehab this time as I had with my previous ACL surgery.
So perhaps because of that, my subsequent sports injuries have nearly always been on left side, the side of this second ACL reconstruction. The moral of the story: rehab is so extremely important. Make sure you have a plan - names of physios, time off from work, etc...for when you leave the hospital.
Regardless, I'm still extremely happy with Dr Aufmesser's work, 10 years later!
I had a cruciate ligament rupture and went there initially. The doctors assured me that everything was covered by my insurance and everything is clear with the insurance company ad well as parents. I asked three times whether they are sure. They confirmed it three times and I signed a document for the operation. Alas, they were wrong, NOTHING was covered and they did NOT contact my parents. This hospital is indeed private and in fact greedy, trying to make as much money as possible.
Not only that, but then after canceling the operation the head doctor came to me and said why I am making such a fuss, that I am causing unnecessary complications and that it is, in his words, "embarrassing and shameful".
Of course I had to pay some fees, which could not be helped. But the way they unscrupulously handled my case put me in shock, next to my injury.
My short stay for a meniscus arthroscopy was all round to my complete satisfaction. From the doctors, through the care to the administration, consistently excellent care.
Special thanks go to Dr. Micha K. for the successful operation!
Everything is just right here!
The entire team shines with competence, friendliness and everyone shows that he simply enjoys his job!
Everyone was super friendly, helpful and took a lot of time for the care and the open questions.
Doctors also attach great importance to standing by the patient and taking time for them!
And the operation? Incredible!
The result is just fantastic a few days after the operation!
I would be treated and operated here again at any time!
For that I would even take the 600 km distance!
