One of my favorite in the city of Vienna!
Art work can be seen on all 4 corners on this bridge.
For the 2001 exhibition "Franz West: Gnadenlos" (Franz West: Mercilessly) in the neighboring Museum der Angewandten Kunst (Museum of Applied Art), four "Lemurköpfe" (lemurs heads) designed by Franz West were installed on the four pylons of the Stubenbrücke, a bridge over the Wien river. The installation of the four white aluminium sculptures on the bridge was supposed to last only for the duration of the exhibition. In the end the sculptures were permanently loaned to the museum and became this permanent art installation on the Stubenbrücke.
The inconvenient event
4 lemur heads? For me, these alleged lemurs will forever look like kebabs. The bridge was to be renamed "the Kebap Bridge".
