Nice little baroque church to cool your heels before heading down into the Kaisergruft.

This imperial cemetery is very significant. It is because the Habsburg family was one of the great centers of European culture. We can see the coffins of the royal families of the Habsburg family that we know common sense, and it is ironic that it is not scary and beautiful. These are very high values for art history. Especially, the museum of Maria Theresa is very popular, so there are always lots of bouquets. I come here every time I come to Vienna, and this time I put a rose on Maria Theresa. To her mother who sent Marie-Antoinette to Paris. I hope that many people will feel the history of the Habsburg family here.

The Capuchin Church is the location of the famous Kaisergruft (Imperial Tombs), which is a very impressive attraction to visit in Vienna. While there is a fee to visit the Crypt, the church is free to visit. The exterior of the church is red color and of simple design. The interior is much less elaborate then the cities baroque designed cathedrals. It is worth a quick look but the real reason for visiting here is to see the crypt. The Capuchin Church is located in the Neuer Markt just off the busy Kaerntnerstrasse area.
