I did work on a research project together with Hubert Keckeis and his team. Unfortunately that was a pretty disappointing experience. For one, the project outline that was established at the beginning was changed all the time by H Keckeis. He was not responsive to my and my colleagues arguments that this would significantly prolong our project. Furthermore the results in our freshwater study were largely irrelevant due to his one sided demands. I think such arrogant behavior is not in place in a modern day research environment. I did not expect to see these problems in Vienna. I am also of the opinion that H Keckeis is prone to favoritism. Some Austrian colleagues told me that he is quite fond of people that are from his part of Austria (Vorarlberg) others from Eastern Austria or other parts he treats with disrespect.
