Neptune Fountain

Intricate designs and amazing gardens around the fountain!

A grand piece of baroque garden architecture. You can take a small path that leads up behind the upper statues of the fountain. That gives you nice views of the palace and the gardens.

Very crowded Designed as the crowning element of the Great Parterre, and sited at the foot of the hill behind the palace is the Neptune Fountain, which was conceived as part of the overall design of the gardens and park commissioned by Maria Theresa in the 1770s.

Amazing place

A large and amazing fountain at the center of Schonbrunn Gardens. It is visible from the Palace and it is at the base of the hill that leads to the Gloriette building at the top. You are able to head up to the back of the fountain to get a view towards the palace. It was quite nice to walk to even though it was raining when we were there.
