One of the most graceful figures in the palace park. Located in the corner of a hedge walk on the Meidlinger side, the first fountain house, probably built by court gardener Steckhoven, was replaced in 1771 by a new building by court architect Isidor Canevale. Originally known as the "Ruin of Carthage", the Roman ruins stand at the foot of the wooded Schönbrunn mountain. Not easy to find when coming from above, you have to pass the Schönbrunner Bad and into the forest.
