The Stadtbahn stop Franz-Josefs-Bahnhof S, also known to locals as the Bimstation, is an architectural masterpiece for me and forms a clear counterpoint to the aesthetics of historicism. The classic technique style is decisive for his time. Art and technology form a unity, artistic elements such as the bench made of metal mesh can also be used practically. A matrix display informs in minutes about the next arrival of the Bim - only at second glance does the inclined observer notice that the displayed and real time of arrival in no way correlate. This so-called "architectural sarcasm" is accompanying the measure of Wiener Linien and thus for a whole city.
The Bimhaltestelle was registered on 12 July 2005 in the Austria National Heritage List and on June 28, 2007 in the list of UNESCO World Heritage.
