Beautiful historic monument on the banks of Inn river. It's nice to stop by and sit down for a while after a bike ride along Inn river. The view on to the German side with an old castle on the hill is gorgeous.

Magnificent tourist spot. Great for outdoor activities, most importantly cycling.

Donated by Emperor Ferdinand III in gratitude for saving the city of Vienna (!) In 1645 (towards the end of the Thirty Years' War). The column was erected in 1646 and then erected in 1647 in Vienna, Am Hof, in the oldest city center of Austria's capital. Twenty years later, in 1667, the Marian column was transported to Wernstein am Inn by order of Emperor Leopold I, where it still attracts the attention of visitors to this day.

If there is not more time than in my case, the local castle, the Austro-German view from the Bridge over the Inn River and the visit of some of the local gastronomy are worth seeing. In the area there are cyclocasts and walking possibilities, cruise by boat. Accommodation options at a decent level and at a good price.
