Overall I'm really happy that I've found this school for my kid. I like the atmosphere - it's a bit chaotic, with children running this way and that getting off to their classes or theater club or the school newspaper or whatever, crowded hallways full of student art, lots and lots of activity. It reminds me a bit of my own school experiences in the US, in contrast to the echoing stairwells and somber atmosphere of a lot of Viennese Gymnasia (which to be honest kinda freak me out). It's still a Gymnasium, and the level of work expected from 10 year old children (and their tutors, formerly known as parents) is on the shocking side and will take some adjustment for most North Americans. Still, my kid is happy to go to school every day, and the support of native English speaking teachers is really valuable. I definitely recommend it for anyone raising kids who speak both languages.

The teachers cannot grade one writes 1 on the test gives everything from gets 3 in the certificate

At the moment I am in the 10th grade and can say: I am very dissatisfied with my situation! The school management is very strict and does not forgive the slightest mistake. No effort is spared to put obstacles in your way. Most of the teachers have no real pedagogical training and barely manage to convey the material to the students. In addition, the classes are very dirty and in many classes the projectors are broken. The school buffet is an impertinence. The products offered are tasteless and often it feels like eating cardboard. Plus it's overpriced. The machines are no better in this regard. The sports facilities are not sufficient for all students and often a class on the Schmelz has to attend gymnastics lessons. It feels as if all of the school's money is invested in projects such as the ergometer class, the choir or the bilingual (A) class, which most of the students do not benefit from. Therefore only one star!
