Beware! It's Friday 16:00. We had a car reserved and the guy (a certain Herr Koln) is nowhere to be found. He just hung up the phone wirh no explanation after asking him repeatedly why he is not in his office although he should be.

DO NOT, I repeat! DO NOT EVER rent a car from this dump. If I could I would leave zero stars. Hertz in America would NEVER do this. All employees that work here must have been brainwashed by their employer to scam every and anyone. Absolute worst rental experience ever. I will contact Corporate about their shenanigans. Again, DO NOT rent a car from this place!!!!!

DO NOT RETURN OR RENT HERE. We just got back from returning our rental. After having a wonderful week in Austria, these scam artists were kind enough to leave a blemish on the trip. We met so many amazing Austrian people on this trip that it’s frustrating these individuals can’t help but make you ask where is the ethical and moral compass? Before we even get to the insane story of the horrendous customer experience, let me start by saying the location of this place is a nightmare. Unlike other hertz city locations, you don’t return the car in a garage or parking area, you ditch it on a sidewalk and hope it’s fine while waiting for an attendant to make the time to greet you. Once they come outside, the fun begins. Our hertz contact, Kohl, spent no less than 15 minutes walking around the car SEVEN+ times, ducking underneath the car at times, looking inside the lip of the door (yes where it latches!!) desperately trying to find damage. Perhaps fortunately for us despite the car had 18K+ miles, he was visibly frustrated by the good condition of the car. However, you should have seen his excitement over finding a pair of tiny old rusted scratches inside the lip of the trunk that was clearly preexisting, which you can’t see unless it’s open. He gleefully took us inside and said it’s his job to find those details and it doesn’t matter if it wasn’t us because he can’t see the pickup records in Germany so we should have noticed it upon pickup. Who would notice a tiny old rusted scratch in the trunk of a red car?? These scratches were beyond minuscule, clearly old from the rust and is embarrassing that they would even attempt to put this on us. Imagine our dismay when we pulled up the reviews and saw this was a scam that was being pulled on everyone. As a matter of fact, it was also being pulled on the couple next to us when we were finalizing the info. They couldn’t even see the scratch that was being attributed to them. When we asked for copies of his report and the final contract, he was reluctant to share and only gave them to us once my wife started to get visibly angry at him. I will be doing everything in my power to fight this and will be escalating to corporate in Austria and the States based upon this experience. Save yourself the nightmare and AVOID THIS LOCATION AT ALL COSTS!! As a 10 plus year gold member who historically always rents from hertz Professionally and Personally, I am appalled. This experience was so frustrating that it ruined a day of my vacation and the fact that clearly it has been condoned for a long time? Shame on you Hertz. Safe to say there are plenty of other options and as individual who travels frequently professionally and personally and I’ll be making one the choice other than Hertz. Congrats on losing a lifetime of revenue from myself, my wife and countless others who I will share this experience with.

I just cancelled my reservation thanks to all the previous reviewers! Hertz needs to get serious and investigate this location’s business practices. What a tarnish to its brand!

Do NOT book with Hertz! When we returned our car the agent very meticulously inspected our car, walking around it several times, looking for a damage to be able to charge on us. He finally found one at the driver's door, so minor and small that you had to look twice to see it. When we claimed that it could not have been us because we parked the car in a garden with open space. They argued that we should have reported the damage when taking over the car. But again, it is so small that we would never see it, so how should we have reported it. The agent only replied that he was doing his job and he had to report it. Reading the other reviews confirms the impression that our bad experience with Hertz is a standard procedure they apply. Look for a damage, claim it is the client's fault because he did not report it at the beginning and charge a horrendous amount, which adds to their revenue for the rental. We can only discourage everyone from renting from them! There are so many serious rental companies out there, there is no need to do Hertz. Hertz will now reply with their standard message "Thank you for sharing your experience with us. Please contact our customer service." We already did, there was no outcome.
