Fantastic walk to lower portals swimming hole pretty hard walk lots of ups and downs. Good degree of fitness required trail well marked

Barney. My dearest Barney. 3rd visit here and I’m always in awe. What a beautiful place.nnYellowpinch Carpark to East Summit up Sth East Ridge trail = 2 - 3 hours (return 5 hours)nnEast Summit to West Summit via Rum Jungle Camp (1.5 - 2 hours)nnWest Summit to Yellowpinch via Rum Jungle Camp and then Sth Ridge trail (3 hours).nnIf you don’t want to go too hard I would recommend just going up to the East summit and back down the way you came as West Summit is quite challenging and the Sth Ridge walk back to Yellowpinch carpark is rather uneventful. I also recommend a wikilok map as it’s easy to follow a false trail while ascending/descending which can lead you astray and waste time.

Mount Barney up from south east ridge and down from peasants ridge with 8.5h. It's pretty challenging track to be honest(mostly rock climbing up). You should be fit or at least done decent amount of hiking or rock climbing before you go there.nnEssential things on this track are hiking boots hat, sunscreen and atleast 3l of water and recommended is not to start the track after 9am.nnAmazing views all around in this national park but the views while going up are even better, worth 100%nnGoing up the trail was market ok, if you get lost you realize that fast so that's easy, going down luckily there was a lot of signs so it was easy also to find the trail.
