this is the most depressing place & the time it takes to get a decision is mind blowing 4.5 years so far & a simple case . lawyers love this place as its gold mine for them. The court actual time in court is also a joke as they spend max of 4 hours 45 minutes hours a day actual court time at trial. This place needs to be more efficient and needs a total overhaul

Judge Glass was fair and reasonable. Although the entire process took two years and we were sent to mediation three times because there was no reason to be in a courtroom besides the fact no one could agree. Finally, we had register Corrick who managed a 10hr mediation with professionalism and honesty. She set everyone's reality straight and had the kids best interest as her priority. I truly believe if we had of mediated with her originally it would never have been such a long process. We will be back in 18months to reassess but for now, the kids get quality time with both Mum and Dad as they deserve.

Extremely happy with the JP's assistance. But with only 1 court staff visible due to pandemic , people have to navigate their way through to find out everything and put all the documents including their credit card details to a Drop Box. Which seems very inappropriate for someone who does DIY , as adviced by the courts website itself.

Unfortunately due to a divorce I had many cases before this Court throughout 2015-2017. The system needs a complete over haul. Judges and Registrars are too happy to put matters off to another date and further clog the system. It seems they want to do this to keep the system congested and justify their own existence. There is very little incentive to bring matters to a head and have matters finalised. My ex-wife breached many court orders and several occasions with no repercussions at all. I am completely jaded from the experience and have lost all faith in the Family Court system in WA. My advice to anyone separating is to keep the lawyers out of it.

Waste of time, children's welfare not considered at all. My daughters useless X gets told time after time that if he doesn't bring his paperwork next time he won't be listened to but each time they give him another chance. Then they change Judges to one who doesn't even bother looking at previous hearings. Total waste of time and money.
