Birdwood Primary School

I attended this school during my 1-2 years of school (2010-2011), I don't really remember much but a few times I was getting teased and I had told the teacher and they would do nothing. I'm now I'm I'm my final year of middle school and I have severe anxiety and depression

I was forced to attend this school for years 6-7 (1999and 2000) after this experience I now have PTSD, I am severely trumatised and lack the basic education this facility claims to provide. On two occasions i cried all lunch and resess several weeks straight, the school staff did nothing about this, noone talked to me to try to resolve the issues i was facing with bullying and discrimination and they failed to notify my parents that this was occurring. I was finally diagnosed with autism at age 16, no attempt to explain my struggles was ever made by this school as punishment was the favred was to handle student struggles. I have been vegetarian my whole life and was forced to watch my teacher inflate a pair of sheep’s lungs with a straw, I asked to be excused immediately and was denied due to a lack of physical response eg: vomiting, this teacher “Ms K” was aware of my strong values as a vegetarian. Many years have passed and it’s possible that the school has improved it’s vews on mental health and respect for students in this time, however what I experienced has had a lifelong impact on me and my wellbeing.

I think it is a very good school
