8 Thai Ladies Restaurant

Fantastic little find in Collie, had a very lovely meal there, nothing exotic, just yummy Thai food great stuff.

Booked for a table of 7 @ 6:30, including 2 children. We ordered entree and main for all promptly after arriving. We got our meals at 8:45pm, after complaining that another large table who arrived after us received their meals before us. Not only did we have to wait over 2 hours for our meals, but some of the meals were lukewarm at best and lacked flavour...and then they ran out of beef so orders had to be changed ud83eudd26‍♀ufe0f. 2 hours for children to have to wait is ridiculous.n1 star is because the fresh spring rolls (chicken cold rolls) and salt and pepper entrees were large and quite nice.nIs extremely disappointing as it turned what was meant to be a birthday celebration into a sour looooooong night.

We have ordered takeaway from here a few times. Every time it never disappoints ud83dude0d. There chicken green curry is the best I have ever had. We will definitely be back again and again ud83dudc4d

I first dined at 8 Thai ladies when it was located in a house on a small blueberry farm about 10 mins outside of Collie. Part of its charm was that you knew everything was being made in an ordinary kitchen, and what was put in front of you was a genuine home cooked meal. We ordered the laksa and the beef cheek massaman curry and i remember walking out thinking i have never tasted better examples of both dishes.nnI recently had the opportunity to try their fare again at the 8 Thai Ladies restaurant located in the heart of Collie (around 3 hours south of Perth). We had a couple of children with us this time and whilst we encouraged the eldest to branch out and try something Thai he stuck with old faithful and ordered his favourite, Nuggets and chips which is part of the kids menu for the less adventurous smaller people. Youngest stuck with the fish fingers. Pretty hard to stuff up and they were both happy.nnAdults had salt and pepper squid and spring roll entree. Both fried and served with a sweet chilli sauce. Simple but very tasty. Mains I couldn't go past the massaman curry again and we also ordered a Thai beef salad and a laksa. I said earlier that I had never tasted better examples of the 2 dishes I had at my first visit to 8 Thai Ladies, well that changed tonight. Perfect.nnBeef cheek massaman curry melts in your mouth and the Seafood Laksa is a revelation. Neither were so spicy as to take away from the enjoyment of the flavours but just enough to give you a little jolt. The coconut in the laksa was the perfect amount and cut through the spice and lemony flavour perfectly and the amount of delicious seafood was very generous.nnThai beef salad was fairly simple everything was done well and no extra fluff in the plate just for the sake of it.nnFor a small town Thai restaurant I feel like they are definitely punching above their weight. I happily recommend 8 Thai Ladies to anyone who finds themselves down Collie way. They haven't lost their home cooked meal style but the taste is definitely above what any home style Thai meals offer up.
