The Buffet and Coffee Shop

Wonderful fine dining restaurant in a more traditional style. One of the institutions of Hobart, The Point offers great food, outstanding presentation and consistently good service. The menu is simple and consistent, with well prepared local fare and a fine selection of Tasmanian wines. The view is spectacular (and frequently changing) and the only challenge is finding your table when you come back from the bathroom!

Great food. Well priced for quality received. We had 9 people at our table, 3 had entree and mains took a little bit too long to be served after that, but it was worth the wait.

When we arrived at 8:15pm Saturday night, we were only given 45 minutes to eat before the buffet was closing. I'm am of the belief they shouldn't do booking times so close to closing time. Will be good in the future to be told when booking, when the buffet closes. Also food was very ordinary. Am not likely to return.
