Rockhampton Botanic Gardens

Absolutely unreal. Hidden away and I am sure most people including visitors would not know and its free. Well done to the community.

Cool gardens, worth checking out. Loved seeing the turtles in the lake! Also the shaded area behind the shop is a lovely place to sit in summer

After visiting the Zoo make your way through the Bitanic Gardens. Cafe for eats and drinks. Very friendly and well priced. Great place to bring the kids. There is a playground and plenty of tables and chairs or lush soft grass to chill. Very well maintained gardens.

Almost 150 years old so has some very large trees suited for warmer climates. There's a nice Cafe situated under a huge banyan fig tree which offers plenty of shade. Plenty of grassed areas for picnics too. The zoo next door isn't too bad either especially considering entry is free.
