David Chippy's Fish Cafe

Ordered our good Friday fish & Chips at 1748 over the phone and was informed a 30min to 1hr wait...yes no issues as its good Friday and it is the busiest day of the year.. Arrived at shop for collection and shop was bulging with persons.....nPaid for order then told there was another 1hr wait... hang on what???? Young staff apologetic ..... watching the operation it felt like people were not aligned and no system was in place as busy time and panic with hand written orders were confusing the 7 people working behind the counter... frustrated people leaving with what they hoped was the correct order... could a number system be used for this one day...heck yeah as this would save the double handling of orders and the people outside missing their called name orders.nOrder recieved nearly 2hrs later and off home to see what surprises were in the packets. FISH ud83dudc1f cooked well but the serving of chips & Fish was very small ... but hey what to do...Let's hope they get it right next year....

Excellent value for money.

The best fish and chips in the area!! Their portions are good and the batter is always always golden and crispy. The fish inside is always fresh and the chips are on point!!nIt's the only place we go to get our Friday night cheat meal....

The chips are always nice and crunchy, which to me is what proper chips should be. And often they throw in more pieces of fish than you ask for.nnI had to take of a star because it's usually really hard to talk to and hear the order-taker because of all the noise, and because you can't pay EFTPOS for orders under $10. But otherwise it's really good.
