Henbury Crater

Must see. Once in a lifetime experience everyone must visit. If you're travelling around Central Australia it is more than worth your time to go and see it. Once you see it you know you're not ALONE.

If you are an engineer, scientist or into meteorites, the universe and all that stuff you'll love this place, and your imagination will do the rest. But if you only have a vague awareness of all this cosmic duff, then let's be honest - you are going to hate it, and grumble constantly about them only being boring holes in the ground...

Not worth trip on horrible dry dusty corrugated road. Holes in ground dont look anything like craters.

There seem to be a few bad reviews of this place but we thought it was pretty cool.nnWhat to expect - it's a wide hole in the ground formed by 2 meteor impacts. We went as we are passing but if you went especially for it you may feel a little let down if you are used to seeing other amazing things like Uluru.nnWe thought it was cool though. We walked around the crater and it took around 20 mins. There are some signs with info about the crater on the perimeter. It's something you don't see every day!nnThe car park also has a toilet and picnic area.
