Russ Wheeler Reserve, Virgil Ave

This well kept park was named after Chester Hill’s first resident police officer who operated from the laundry located at his house. He lived near Russ Wheeler Reserve park and began policing operations in 1952. The park was renamed in his honour about nine years after he died. The park was originally known as Virgil Reserve. This park has no seating or pubic toilets. Several large trees create some shade. The M91 bus stops right at the park.
