The River School

I am a past student of the River School. I can genuinely say that the River School has made curious about the world and science, taught me about empathy and how to be a compassionate person and helps every day to respect my environment and the way I act in my life. The school had some of the best teachers I have ever met. They were supportive and nurturing emotionally, while pushing me academically. I have thrived in other educational systems but haven't found the heart of this place anywhere else.

My whole life has been richer because of this school. My children spent their primary school years here. It was the making of them as incredible adults. They have thrived academically and in their sense of self. As well, as an employee of the school I couldn't have wished for a more nurturing and supportive workplace.

Our four boys have had a wonderful experience at this school and have loved every day.nnI feel the school has helped them develop self-confidence and empathy and has given them a strong academic background as well. The three boys who have left the school have all done well in high school and their further careers.nnWe are lucky to have such a beautiful school that builds community, fosters creativity, develops universal spirituality, models morality and cooperation, and teaches children to love and serve the world around them with fun and friendship.

It's hard to imagine a better beginning to education than The River School. I'm grateful my children experienced such a nurturing and character forming K-6 schooling.

We moved to Maleny a few years ago and the children began there schooling there. It is a nurturing, loving environment where children are listened to. My oldest then went to the local highschool and is doing very well. Its a transition the school prepares them for and they fit in really well.
