Cool place to stop if you’re passing by

If you want to see how tough miners lived in the early part of the 20th century, then the Gwalia Heritage Precinct is a must see. A lot of the Ghost Town was relocated in the 1970s (due to the expansion of the gold mine) and preserved by local sponsors. The State Hotel is a grand statement of its day (1903).

Great place to visit. Overnight free camp available in the Carpark. Need to be self sufficient. Apparently patrolled. Short walk to the ghost town.
