Dirk Hartog Island

Paradise. Enjoyed exploring the island with our own car and the camp grounds were beautifully maintained. Great staff and cant wait to return again in the near future.

Great place to visit.

Dirk Hartog Island is a world heritage protected zone for good reason. A more incredible and pristine environment on this planet will be a very difficult thing to find. Absolutely stunning beaches and coast with huge giant turtles and incredible reef to snorkel. While standing on the cliffs most of the time you will see many numbers of whale pods out at sea sometimes breaching and jumping clear of thé water - an incredible sight. Thé barge over is pretty easy but must be booked in advance. The 4wd tracks around the Island are hard so you will need a solid and reliable vehicle and a large fuel range atleast 200 litres. Would go back on a heartbeat we spent 5 days exploring and didn’t get close to seeing all of it and the fishing is world class when the wind is not blowing too hard - A Bucket list trip to an extremely remote island. We only saw one car in a week. You can camp for a nominal fee or we stayed in the ocean villa which was excellent.
