Morphett Vale East Primary School

In our four years at the school we have had a positive experience, bullying was handled appropriately, our children have felt included and valued. My son loves using the new basketball rings at recess and lunchtime, my daughter enjoys spending time in the library playing games with her friends. We appreciate leadership and the teachers making our children feel included, supported, and confident learners, and find the communication from the school is amazing. As parents we appreciate that they feel like they fit in and that their voices are heard, we like how the older students are buddies with the younger year levels. We also like that their therapists are welcomed onsite and in the classrooms and that teachers work well with them to get the most for our children. We appreciate that the teachers support their needs from learning differently to their sensory needs and that they seem to get their quirks.

Small school located in a quiet residential area. Nice creek and trees surrounding the school. Have some really great teachers at this school. Sadly the kids do not get sports equipment to use during recess and lunch which is really disappointing. Basically no musical instruments are used by the students, so they are missing out in learning music. Parking around the school is appalling, while there is parking in the street and a drop and go zone, parents do not use this as designed. People parking illegally and dangerously on a daily basis. Council and school do not follow up to ensure the safety of the children. Parents/guardians smoke in close proximity to the school (which is illegal) and throw their cigarette butts onto school property, however nothing is done about it. Apparently dogs are not permitted on school grounds (excluding service dogs) however nothing is done to prevent this. And when you have a child who is scared of dogs, makes things difficult. Children are apparently not permitted to ride bikes/scooters with in school grounds but, you guessed it, nothing is done to prevent this. Bullies are not dealt with appropriately, often given a re-think, which is time in the office. Basically I believe this school is educating a generation of rule breakers, who get away with too much. I would recommend looking at other schools in the area.

Great school. Awesome grounds. My kids have loved their time there. I’ve been involved in the school for 11 years as a volunteer. Love it
