It's free, but time limited to a maximum of 4 hours, which I suppose stops people parking there all day and catching the tram into work. Mind you, there's nothing stopping you from parking in the nearby carpark near the lake at Bonython Park and walking an extra 100m to catch the tram ... you can stay all day then and they can't fine you.

Nice place for a walk or bike ride. Shame the kiosk isn't open on Sunday.
