Originally this was a Cacti and Succulent Garden however, from the 1980s development began to convert this into an Arid Garden. It displays an amazing assortment of cacti, aloes, agaves and bromeliads from around the world that have unique adaptations for survival under arid conditions.nnThe Arid Garden is approximately 60 years old and comprises over 1,100 plants including 100 rare and some threatened species. The garden has many features and amazing plants. There is a scarcity of trees in the garden representing the scarcity of trees in the arid inland zones of Australia. The garden certainly highlights the ornamental qualities of cacti and succulents
