Dragon Village Chinese Restaurant

My wife and I had a sit-down meal last Monday, purely because the chip shop next door decided to close on Mondays. I'm very glad that this happened because we were treated to the ambience of a authentic Chinese restaurant and some lovely food. The waitress gave some advice on whether to chose large or small portions of rice. This turned out to be good advice, as the meals were very generous and we struggled to finish them.nMy wife had sweet and sour chicken, while I had crispy duck. Both were delicious and we will certainly be dining there frequently in the future.

They serve a great variety of Chinese dishes, always plenty and if you prefer more sauce you need only specify and they will be happy to oblige. My favourite is combination fried rice with sweet and sour pork...very good.

Food was good (although the sweet and sour pork was mostly just crunchy fatty batter), however I explicitly specified a seafood allergy and my partner is now violently ill because of seafood contamination.nHave been a customer of dragon village for over 12 years. The food quality has gradually gone down hill during that time and this is the 2nd occurrence of seafood contamination in the last 2 times we have eaten here.nWill not be returning.

My friend and I spent $65 on various items at this restaurant through Uber eats.nIn particular the honey chicken and wonton soup was some of the worst Chinese food I have tasted in my life.nThe spring rolls were stone cold.nThe chicken was cold, unseasoned and came with a side of runny cold honey that had to be poured over the chicken. There was barely enough to cover half of it.nThe wonton soup contained 3 wontons and the broth literally had no taste. The wontons were also quite flavourless and undercooked.nnWe called them to give feedback on the quality of the food. The response we got was “we will definitely send that feedback to the kitchen thanks for letting us know”nThere was no apology or offer to refund us for the inedible meals.nOverall the food and service was disappointingnWe will not be comming back again or recommending to anyone we know.
