Pepper & Salt Restaurant

We booked our table online 3 weeks prior to our lunch date with friends (table of 4), and made sure that we arrived well prior to our allocated time.nOn arrival we were shown to a table at the very rear corner, under a plastic over hang with a cold southerly breeze blowing on a 14 degree day.nWe were not happy with our seats, the girls were extremely cold with the cold breeze blowing through.nI asked to see the manager to have our seats relocated. When she arrived at our table she immediately stated that most people had booked 2 weeks in advance and there were no other seating options.nI stated to her that we had booked 3 weeks prior and so by her measure we should be getting much better seats than what she was offering.nFortunately my wife was able to locate a free table further inside the restaurant which as set for 3 people. The manager agreed to make it into a table of four for us.nThe meal was of excellent quality, but the much less than satisfactory seating blunder had put a taint on the afternoon.nBoth managers were not attentive or customer focused enough to approach us again during our whole meal even though they knew that our experience was not great.nWe noticed that as busy as the restaurant was, and with many others arriving after us, many of whom were obviously walk-ins at the end of the dining period, that the initial table that we were told was our only option was not used again all afternoon!nI personally provided our waitress with a handsome tip for her service to ensure that the collective (i.e. the managers) did not share in the tip!

Silas and the Team at Pepper and Salt deserve more than 5 stars. From the first time we dined at Pepper and Salt back when it was located at Matilda’s Meadow to today’s amazing lunch the quality, consistency and just bloody amazing food has stayed the same.nnHaving the owner and head chef working the floor and giving his own recommendations is a rarity in the hospitality industry but Silas does it all the time. Awesome!!!!!

Great restaurant and very popular locally. Food is excellent and menu regularly changes. Servings larger size, price comparable to other restaurants. Lovely friendly, helpful staff and the chef Silas, Su chef etc are very skilled. Wonderful lunch for Mother's day

We had lunch for four and every dish was good. I had the duck and the steak. Both were delicious but the steak was outstanding, tender and tasty with beetroot croquettes and brussel sprouts. Great location and well worth a visit.

Years ago we came here for the first time, when visiting the Denmark area, & the quality of the food & service was excellent. Lovely place for lunch. Today was the second time to Pepper & Salt, & our experience was the same as last time. Highly recommend. Make sure you book ahead.
