The Darling

Pure luxury. Stayed for 2 nights in a Stellar suite on the 16th floor. Can not fault the whole experience. The room has great views with everything you could ever need. The room is spotlessly clean and extremely quiet. The bed is also extremely comfortable. The rooftop pool is amazing. Easy access to broadbeach, pacific fair, the light rail and of course the Casino. Restaurant options everywhere. Cannot recommend The Darling highly enough and will definately return.

Website and booking confirmation states parking for The Darling is at The Star, I have an overnight stay for myself and my daughter, my husband drops us off at The Star carpark, eventually making our way to reception (The Star) and ask for directions to The Darling reception only to learn that I have to pass through the casino, after some time standing in a queue at the casino and then been asked to fill out a registration form I learn that my daughter cannot enter the casino on her way to The Darling as she is under 18! I then have to get all of my luggage and walk down to the car park, telephone my husband to come and collect us again who then decides to assist us with our luggage. I find out when we get to The Darling they don’t have parking and instead write me a ticket for valet parking which states on the ticket $50 per day. When the car park underneath the hotel is clearly free............ Really ?! So I head with my daughter to the rooftop bar ... Have a swim and enjoy the last hour of sun and sea views I go to the window, which clearly is open for drinks at the pool to learn that I have to use the phone and call room service for drinks at the pool despite the drinks been at arms length away ... Or I can get dressed and make my way into the bar and drink inside ?!? So it’s fine to drink at the pool but only if someone from room service brings them from a different location ...not allowed to consume drinks served from the bar at the pool ?! Come on people ...

I have stayed in a lot of hotels all around the world - this hotel was extremely beautiful and so well considered. the shower is amazing and bath was so big. everyone should go and stay here. so worth it.
